A 200-pound bronze plaque in recognition of the 220-word ‘Victory or Death’ Letter was dedicated April 12 on the northside steps of the VZC Courthouse. VZC was the fourth county in the state to receive the plaque from The Alamo Letter Society, who is attempting to place the plaque in all 254 courthouses throughout the state. Agood crowd was on hand for an outdoor ceremony on the north side steps of the Van Zandt County Courthouse April 12 for a dedication ceremony and unveiling of a bronze plaque commemorating the historic ‘Victory or Death’ letter authorized by William Barret Travis at The Alamo in 1836. The event was hosted by VZC and The Alamo Letter Society.
