Following a 3-2 vote during their regular meeting Nov. 10, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court approved a new redistricting plan for the four commissioner court precincts.

“Always remember our veterans,” was the theme during the Van Zandt County Veterans Day Program held Nov. 11 at the VZC Veterans Memorial.

American Legion Post 156 Officer Dan Curtis (USAR, retired), along with other veterans, lent a helping hand to a Van Zandt County veteran throughout the week. Curtis, who is an officer with Post 156 in Emory, as well as an officer in the VFW of Seven Points and a board member of the VZC Veterans Memorial, said he sees a need for VZC to have a VFW Post.
