The East Texas Food Bank (ETFB) will offer a new Mobile Pantry on the fourth Friday of every month with fresh produce in Grand Saline from 10-11:30 a.m. beginning April 26.

During their regular monthly meeting April 11, the Van City Council recognized City of Van Public Works Director Kevin Johnson for his 20 years of service to the city. A ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ plaque was presented to Johnson by Van Mayor Tammy Huff.
Agood crowd was on hand for an outdoor ceremony on the north side steps of the Van Zandt County Courthouse April 12 for a dedication ceremony and unveiling of a bronze plaque commemorating the historic ‘Victory or Death’ letter authorized by William Barret Travis at The Alamo in 1836. The event was hosted by VZC and The Alamo Letter Society.

City elections will be held in Grand Saline, Van, and Wills Point while school elections will take place in Edgewood, Fruitvale, and Van.
Union Chapel Decoration Day set Decoration Day for the Union Chapel Cemetery is set for Saturday, April 26. The annual business meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m.
